First real post on the site. Good times.

There's been a lot of talk this week about Michael Steele's "Scarlet R" conversation with reporters in Washington. If you missed it, click here to check out the Washington Post's coverage.

What I think is interesting is that the Lt. Gov. didn't want to go on the record with his (perfectly valid) criticisms of the president. I think moderates and Republicans in Maryland who might have taken a hard look at Steele (a group not including your host) are now turned off by his "inside baseball" trashing of the leader of his party.

Have faith in your campaign's message. Tell the people (not a secretly assembled gaggle of reporters) what you think.

Yes, in Maryland a Republican who does those things may lose. But a Republican who campagins in the shadows is doomed to humiliation.
